The Metal is NOT brass material, it is Steel which is painted or powder coated to get finish. There is no Plastic in the rings all metal. The size is Internal Diameter of the rings. For a 1" D rod we would recommend to use at-least one size bigger diameter.

This Lucite Acrylic Solid Rod is guaranteed to work with our Standard Brackets and flanges. Use it for curtain rods, shower curtain rods, rods for wall hanging, and many other uses. These may be used for Closets as long as they are supported every 3'-0". The rods are made from scratch-resistant casted Lucite. These are NOT extruded. Since they are casted they are stronger and better quality.
